While visiting Kanantik, make sure to enjoy our traditional Garifuna Dancers and Singers. This traditional performance is by our local Garifuna dance group, who are direct descendants of a group of African slaves who escapes two ship-wrecked Spanish slave ships near St. Vincent in 1635. This very traditional culture includes a blend of African traditions of music, dance and religious ceremonies, with Native American farming, hunting, and fishing techniques, and a French and Arawak influenced language. The dance group performs regularly at the resort, allowing guests to witness firsthand traditional songs, dance styles and storytelling. This is just another way that Kanantik delivers a true, authentic Belizean experience.
